My first sweater for the upcoming fall/winter season (and for luvinthemommyhood’s summer sweater knit along), Cloudy Sunday, is DONE! And I absolutely love it.

This gorgeous boucle yarn was gifted to me by my mother-in-law, and at first, I was a bit apprehensive.

It was a little tricky to knit with since it basically has loops coming out of it all over the place, but once I got used to it, it was fine. There were a couple moments of panic where I dropped a stitch and couldn’t find it to save my life. I finagled it, and everything worked out okay.

If I had it to do over again, I MIGHT knit the extra-small instead of small. I would definitely to the extra-small for the hips/waist since that seems to be where I am smallest.

But no worries; I like it just the same.

Scott went with Harper and me (see how I used “me” correctly? Please, fellow bloggers, take note!) to a trail head in Olympus Cove for this little photo shoot. My little cutie sneaked her way into a few of the shots…

Oh yes, she is walking all over the place now! Crawling is no longer her preferred method of transportation.

I swear she’ll be running before long…

Just a few more of my sweater:

DID I MENTION IT WAS LIKE A FREAKING HUNDRED DEGREES WHEN WE TOOK THESE PHOTOS?!

And a little mommy-daughter moment:

The best part? I’m free to work on my next sweater – the Campus Jacket! Yahooo!
Hi! I'm Lauren: college-educated mom to Harper (and soon-to-be Ezra!) who gave up career life to sew, knit, sing nursery rhymes and watch Yo Gabba Gabba a dozen times a day. Most days, I love it. My husband Scott and I live with our kid(s) and two insanely dumb cats in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Beautiful! Nice work my friend!
Asside from the pics, my favorite part of the blog post is this,
“Scott went with Harper and me (see how I used “me” correctly? Please, fellow bloggers, take note!)” Another annoyance of mine is when referring to
you and another person as, “Her and I!!!”
You look gorgeous!!!! Such a great job hun! thanks for joining in!
amazing! and your daughter is just too sweet. She looks like she’s dancing!
The sweater is beautiful!! It looks so soft and snuggly, which is probably not ideal for the crazy heat, but will be perfect once fall comes!
Thank you so much, Julie! It is so snuggly. I can’t wait until winter so I can wear this baby!
Love it!
Gorgeous! Looks super cozy. And thanks for your message, I remember your version of the Tiered Baby Coat very well, it was so adorable, definitely one of my faves. Yes, it seems we definitely have a few things in common! I also read a few of your Freethought Friday entries and I can relate to a lot of things in there as well. I admire how thoughtful and articulate you are about all these difficult issues, I will definitely keep reading
OH my goodness! You know, I had no idea what a masterknitter you were as well.
